Exciting times are upon us! At least, for me, they are. After far too many years of putting it off, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new author website: DeckMatthews.com.

If you’ve been following my work, you might already be familiar with VarkasChronicles.com, which has been live for some time now and recently received a visual refresh. That site remains dedicated to the world and stories of Varkas, and I will be expanding its content to provide a more immersive experience. But as much as I love immersing myself in the world I've created, I wanted to create a space with a broader focus—a platform to connect with readers and other authors alike to discuss all that goes into bringing a story to life.

And that’s exactly what this new site is about: the art of storytelling and the craft of writing.

So What Can You Expect from This Site?

At its heart, DeckMatthews.com is a space for me to share not only my work but also my perspective as an author. Whether you’re here as a long-time reader or you’ve just stumbled across my work, I hope you’ll find something of value. Here’s what you can look forward to:

• Updates and News: Regular posts to keep you informed about upcoming releases, events, and projects I’m working on. If you want to know what’s coming next in the Varkas Chronicles or get a sneak peek at new ideas I’m exploring, this is the place to be.
• Articles on Writing and World-Building: I’ve always been passionate about crafting stories that transport readers to other worlds. I’ll share my insights into my creative process, and various tricks I've learned along the way. Whether you’re a fellow writer, a game master or just curious about the process, I hope these posts will be both entertaining and useful.
• Book Reviews: Like any writer, I'm also an avid reader. I’ll share reviews of select books I’ve read, with a specific focus on craft. I'll look at things I might have learned from a particular book, aspects that worked well and even inspiring concepts that might emerge from a particular work. 
• Behind-the-Scenes Looks: From the evolution of The Varkas Chronicles to the inspirations behind my characters and settings, I’ll give you a glimpse into the world-building, writing, and decision-making that go into my work.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Over the next several months, I'll be continuing to build out content, with new articles, review, expanded pages and a new email newsletter. Over the long term, I am investigating the possibility of starting a new section specifically dedicated to providing insight into my creative process.
